Here's the Skinny

The skinnier the tie, the trendier it is. Keep the skinny tie out of the office. Save it for Friday nights out with the top button undone. However if you’re wearing one to a special occasion, start the night off with your shirt buttoned up all the way. During the night you can unbutton the top button if you get warm for a more relaxed look. Otherwise it will appear like you’re trying too hard. The most important thing about wearing the tie is having the right collar length to match it. Having too big of a collar with a skinny tie can make you look pretty silly. Here's how to do it right.
