Trying Too Hard

BY KEITH KIRSNER
Some guys try way too hard to stay on top of the trends. They go a little too extreme and take themselves in the wrong direction. You probably know someone like this. Dressing yourself shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. If you are taking longer than that, it will show and not in a good way! You’re going to look so unnatural; your outfit might even appear humorous. There’s a difference between not caring and caring too much. Find that happy medium and you’ll be set!

Instant Sneaker Update

BY KEITH KIRSNER Here’s something for everyone to try. If you love your sneakers but have an itch for something a little different, try changing your laces. Pick a solid color lace that will contrast against your sneakers. You’ll be surprised that the same shoe can look completely different for under $3 bucks.

No Pleats Please

BY KEITH KIRSNER
Pleats are for your beer belly’d uncle with a comb over. The reason pleats were designed was to create a little extra room for someone of bigger size. Try flat fronts for a cleaner, updated look. You’ll be glad you don’t look like Uncle Bob when the photos hit Facebook!

Travel in Style: Military Duffle Bag

BY KEITH KIRSNER Summer’s just around the corner and that means weekend getaways and a little rest and relaxation. Getting there is half the fun so why not do it in style. Instead of lugging around that JanSport backpack, try a military canvas duffle bag. All of these I found for under $30 bucks and are easy to carry around or put in the backseat between the cooler and some snacks.

Purpose or Design

BY KEITH KIRSNER A lot of fashion comes from clothes that actually serve a purpose before it makes its way to the runways. Fashion forecasting companies research and develop where movements are going and what the public will want. Designers then make clothes based on these trends for mass production that will eventually hit the streets. It seems over the last few decades designers have strongly taken inspiration from blue-collared workers. Anyone remember overalls from the 80’s? How about carpenter pants and a pair of Timberland’s in the 90’s? And how about in the 2000’s with our military shirts and camouflage shorts? It makes you wonder where our next phase of inspirational workers will come from...
